2023 Year End Letter

Anacortes is growing, and this means our Library needs to grow along with our community. To keep pace, we need your help to meet the increased demand for library services. And here’s some exciting news!

A generous donor has offered the Friends of the Library $10,000 so it can match donations up to that amount. For example, your $100 gift will be matched dollar-for-dollar to become $200, generating funds that will enable the Library to expand its book collection and provide more programs that serve all ages in our community.

As Library Director Jeff Vogel explains,

“The FOL is the Library’s most integral resource for providing programming for all ages— something the City’s budget does not cover. Programs are a crucial part of what the library offers to the community, providing not only learning opportunities and inspiration, but also creating opportunities for connections with community members of all ages. Donations to the Friends make programming possible, and when you donate to the Friends and attend one of our programs—such as Genre Fest, Observe the Moon Night, Summer Reading, Trivia Night, and arts and crafts workshops—you can see your money working to enrich the community.”

Please help meet the growing demand for new books and the Library’s popular programs. Support our Library by using the matching gift fund to double the impact of your gift.

Thank you,
The Friends of the Library Board

Friends of the Anacortes Public Library

Since 1969, the Friends have been supporting the Anacortes Public Library in developing services and facilities for the community.

The Friends of the Library play a crucial role in supplementing the Anacortes Library's limited book purchasing budget, and is the primary resource for children's and adult programming.
